Well today just won the prize for most disgusting display of nature. This morning I'm sitting in the family room with McKenna, watching the news, and I smell this awful smell. It smelled like a dead animal. I kept looking around trying figure out where in the world it was coming from all of the sudden. Soon enough I realize it's emanating from the big black furry mass lying on the floor beside me, a.k.a. Stella. I notice that her fur looks wet around her neck. Great.... my first thought was the infamous "shit neck". But alas, it is waaay worse... More on that later. So I go grab the doggie wipes (like clorox cleanups for doggies!) and double up the wipes to try and avoid getting any nastiness on my hands while wiping her down. Ugh, so gross. I get her pretty well cleaned up but I'm thinking to myself that I may just run her to the kennel today and have them give her a kennel bath.
Now it's time for McKenna's bottle/nap, so we head into the nursery to start our process. She goes to sleep, but wakes up after 20 min and I end up bringing her in the offce and putting her in her swing to lull her back to sleep. Once again... I'm sitting there and and suddenly hit with this awful stench. I look over to my right (toward the doggie beds)....Dammit Stella! She went back out and rolled in whatever she rolled in the first time. So I call her into the kitchen and wipe her down AGAIN.
This time I decide to go outside and see if I can't find what the hell she's rolling in. After walking much of the yard I still don't see anything, so I call Koal to come outside, figuring his sniffer will lead him (and me) right to it. Sure enough, he walks over near the brick landscaping wall and puts his head down in "sniff mode". So I tell him to stop where he is (I don't need two dogs rolling in this stuff!) and I walk over. NASTY!!! There is a rotting bird, covered in flies. OMG. I considered taking a picture (since I seem to document everything these days) but I'll spare you the stomach turning visual details. I'm sure you're doing just fine with your own imagination. It's just as bad as you're imganing it... probably worse.
So now the doggie door is closed, until further notice. I need to go see if we have a shovel so I can get that mess out of the yard. That should be a real treat. If I don't Stella will continue to go outside and roll in it over and over again. McKenna, Koal & I are holed up in the office with the door shut (as well as the doors to all the other rooms) and Stella has been banished to the living room. I sprayed Febreeze in here but I can still smell it. Ugh, I could barf.
On a lighter note,I was going back through my photos and realized there were a few pics I meant to post and never did....
McKenna watching Fox New, as usual.
A friend of Jill's sent us gifts for McKenna... how sweet. A cute, short sleeve sleeper and a beautiful frame.
"A Child is God's Most Precious Gift"
I love this pic. I was trying to get a cute pic of us and she kept making funny noises/faces. I caught this one of me laughing at her making her silly face.
Again... I love that she's holding onto my finger in this one.
My little peanut sound asleep while Mommy was on a conference call/video chat.
Fox News, again.
Daddy made lunch for everyone... McKenna joined us at the table.
What a great view, no?
Looks who is starting to try and hold the bottle!
Passed out on Mommy's shoulder
Passed out on the Boppy
I thought this was a cute little sequence.
Awake and chatting with Mommy...
Mommy, you're so funny!
Falling asleep...
And she's out!
And finally, some from this morning.
Once again... mesmerized by Fox News.
I think Megyn Kelly is cool.
Hey... I think that doggie smells!
Wooo...check me out!
Taking a break from eating her hand to smile for Mommy.
I love this kid.
