Life In The Valley Of The Sun: Painting the house...and the rest of our weekend.

We've been wanting to paint the house for quite some time now. Our first attempt didn't turn out quite as we had hoped... the color was all wrong. So we finally decided on a color and rented an airless sprayer this weekend. Craig spent all day yesterday and today prepping and painting and it looks great! We still have some touch up to do and 2 more walls, but it's made such a huge difference already. We have one wall that has 4 Bougainvillea vines and they will need to be pulled down so we can paint, but without damaging the plants. So we only painted a few areas (edges mostly) on that wall and will finish it in the next few weeks. Sadly that is the wall we see most often (along the driveway), but it must wait. Poor Craig threw his back out while painting this morning and still pushed on through the day!

Here are some pics of the new paint color... please don't mind the mess. We haven't done any cleanup yet.

The front of the house... we still need to paint the window box (currently dark grey) the green color, but we'll do that with rollers and brushes vs. the sprayer.

The Bougainvillea wall... a work in progress, but I think the flowers are really going to "pop" against the green wall. Can't wait!

Craig accidentally drove away today with his license sitting on the hood of his car. He didn't realize this until he was at his destination. So McKenna and I told him we'd go walk down the street and look for it. She was crying the whole time I was putting her in the carrier...
