Just Call Me Bargain Betty!

M & I went to our very first Estate sale/garage sale this morning! We were inspired by the "garage sale challenge" over at Thrifty Little Blog. (Hope over there and see what everyone else found on their challenge!) I actually found the mirror listed on craigslist and it said that it would be available at their sale today. They had so much nice stuff (including some couches I would have loved for our family room, but C is currently in LA.). They're moving to Africa to do missionary work!! Thank goodness for people like that. They have a 4 yr old son who they adopted from Guatemala & he didn't come home to them until he was 18 mo (they expected him much sooner) so a lot of the boys clothes they had were never even worn. Everything was in great shape. So excited. AND.... most importantly, I got the mirror to put on McKenna's dresser in her big girl room. I haven't decided on paint color yet... either metallic antique silver (most likely) or white. I've decided I'm going to do her room in pink, white (some cream too since the furniture is a real creamy white) and silver. She's going to have a chandelier in her room too! *Thank you Aunt Tracey* Oh, I can't wait. Craig is in LA today picking up all the furniture (for M's room), cabinets & our new stove.

So here's the Estate sale goods...
All of this was $12.75! 2 of these little shirts are Kenneth Cole. lol Too stinkin' cute.

Here are pics of the nursery furniture Uncle Ben & Aunt Tracey are giving us. I'm going to put new drawer pulls on all of it. Either those clear acrylic fancy/girly ones, or some sort of fancy silver (spray painted, of course lol) ones.

You can see the crib here... and our cute little niece Sophia. She's so grown up now. It's funny to see her so little.

These are my inspiration photos for M's big girl room. :) I'm going for pink walls this time. I think with all the white/silver accents it will looks super cute. Little girl glamour!!

LOVE this! No, I don't plan on painting her dresser silver, but I definitely want to brings lots of pops of silver like this with accessories. I might paint her little play table/chairs (remember the Goodwill find?) an antique silver like this, but with a chalk board paint top. Fancy!

I'd love to do something like this on her wall too. I love how they incorporated the hooks on the branches.

BTW your niece is too darn cute! How old is she now? You're so lucky to get such beautiful furniture as a hand me down!! I'm excited to see how it looks in Mac's room when you're all done with your magic. LOVE the tree decal idea. I am in love with Cherry Blossom trees... and if deuce is for sure a girl, I think we'll be putting one in their room. Love it! Your craftiness is rubbing off on me I think. Well, crafty inspirations, not so much the motivation. hehe

She's 5 and her little bro is about to turn 3! It's crazy. They're both super cute kids. I wish we all lived closer. They've been so generous with all the wonderful hand-me-downs...we're so lucky. I love that you're still not convinced it's a girl. lol I think a cherry blossom tree decal would be adorable, and I bet Kris could print it out for you!
