Our weekend in the High Country...

We left Saturday morning drove up to Payson, AZ, which is about 2 hrs NE of Phoenix. It's so beautiful! We were originally considering going camping, but I was worried it might be too cold at night and they were calling for rain. We decided it might be a better plan to camp out in the backyard first to see how McKenna does, how we would handle sleeping arrangements, etc. That way we can get all the kinks worked out before we're out in the middle of nowhere. :)

We also looked at a few properties while we were up there. There was one that I thought was really cute, but I doubt we'll do anything about it. I know Craig really wants to build something so if we ever buy anything I'm sure it will be land. Then we'll just have to wait a while (until we can afford to build something) before we can do anything more than camping. Of course, I'm a big fan of instant gratification, so I would rather buy something like this little house and be able to start using it right away. But, no sense in buying something if it's not what we both want and would likely end up needing to sell because Craig wanted to build his dream cabin. So, the search continues. :)

Some pics from our weekend.

First trip in her "big girl" car seat.

Immediately after I took this shot there was a huge bolt of lightening! Yikes! I was glad I didn't get struck, but bummed I didn't catch it on film. lol

We set up a big play mat for McKenna to play on in the hotel. She kept crawling off toward the carpet. I would stop her and put her back on the mat and she would crawl right back off again. This went on for a good 3 minutes before I realized she was heading for the cardboard that way lying on the carpet behind me. Problem solved. :)

Even Daddy wanted to play on the play mat! :)

The closet in this place was HUGE, so we decided to put the travel crib in there until it was time for us to go to be... with the door open, of course. That way she was in a semi-quiet/dark place to sleep. It lasted about 20 min before she woke up and slept in bed with Mommy for the rest of the night.

Ready to hit the trails! It turned out to be a bit chilly up on the lake so we had to change her into jeans and a long sleeve tee.

I took this photo from where we started out. Next thing I knew Craig was walking down the hillside with McKenna in his arms. Being the nervous ninny that I am, I couldn't wait for him to sit the h*ll down! lol

Way to go Mommy! Even though I managed to have my hat bill in her face, you can still see her precious little smirk.

This guy was hangin' out in the parking lot when we got back to our truck. I thought he was cute. :)

We stopped at the scenic overlook again so that I could get some shots now that the weather had cleared up.

BEAUTIFUL!!
This is a video of the panoramic view.

My attempt at getting a shot of me and the scenery. Fail! All I got was my big head and the clouds.

Being silly with Mommy when she woke up after the car ride home.

She was having so much fun grabbing my hat.

After we got home, we had to go pick up the pups so I changed McKenna into something cooler than her jeans and long sleeve tshirt she was still wearing.
She was trying to standup but was kneeling on her dress.

I thought this litle face was so funny!
