Well, I just had a conference call for people interested in owning a franchise of Stroller Strides and I must say I'm really excited about it. Here is the site: http://strollerstrides.com It's a fitness program for Moms called Stroller Strides.
Obviously there is a lot to consider and talk about with Craig, but there is so much about this opportunity that could be exactly what I've been hoping for; a source of income, a career in fitness that would allow me to get/stay fit because it is so integrated into my lifestyle, the chance to work with pre/post natal Moms, complete flexibility in terms of schedule, and the ability to take McKenna to work with me all the time! The company really offers a lot of great resources, the start up fee is minimal and they ask for a small monthly "maintenance fee" vs. a portion of your revenues and there are multiple products/classes you can offer to generate as much revenue as you'd like. I can also hire additional instructors in order to offer more classes than those I teach myself. So exciting.
Of course doing this would mean I need to get back to "my fighting weight" before starting this process. Afterall, I would be putting myself out there as a role model so I need to be a fit Mommy first. That's definitely do-able and this is just added motivation to make it happen. So much to think about. I plan to type up all my notes from the call, print out all the info, etc and sit down with Craig to discuss the idea. It's just an idea at this point, so I don't want to put the cart before the horse... but I must admit, I'm pretty excited about it.
Here is a video they have on their blog. I thought it was pretty cool and shows lots of pics of SS classes across the US. ***Again, be sure to pause the music player on the right side of the page before playing this video**

So I finally was able to start my "Couch-to-5k" program tonight! I'm supposed to be trained to run a 5k in 3 months on this program. I've always wanted to run, so I figure now is as good a time as any. The first workout was great... it feels so good to workout again. I forgot how much I missed it until I got on that treadmill and put on some tunes. I can't wait to get back in shape. It will be long overdue.
Oh! One other thing I should mention... little Miss McKenna rolled over for the first time yesterday. Yay!! Let's hope this doesn't mean she'll be crawling/walking super early. I kinda like the whole immobile thing. lol It's easier to keep up with her this way. ;) Although... with my new fit self I'll be able to keep up with a crazy toddler, right?!
