The forecast was calling for rain today, but the chance of precipitation was still low this morning in the hourly forecast, 10 - 15%, so I decided to make a run for it. Literally. ;) I managed to get in 2.5 miles. Would have liked more, but it's better than nothing. It was really windy (20+ mph) with some crazy gusts! There were a few times I had to stop to either turn the stroller and shield Seamus from the wind (and flying debris!) and/or because I wasn't able to keep running against the wind anymore. It was as though I would just hit a wall and although I was "running", we just weren't moving anymore. Imagine if I'd had both kids in the stroller. (Stroller: 34 lbs, Kid 1: 37 lbs, Kid 2: 33 lbs = a lot of effin' extra weight!) I bet we'd have started rolling backwards. Even with the crazy wind, which strangely seemed to be in my face both coming and going (reminded of the old "when I was your age, I had to walk 5 miles to school, up hill... both ways), I managed to maintain my most recent pace.
One bonus.... I think I passed a total of two other people on my entire run up/down the Bridle Path. That never happens.

| The sky as we were getting ready to head out for our run! Thought this may well be my first run in the rain. |
| As usual, my "running partner" fell asleep. Can't blame him. The weather reminded of those stormy/rainy days at the beach when you open up the windows to enjoy the breeze and take a nap. Pure awesome. |
After we got back, after a little stretching, I decided to climb up in the back of my truck and watch the storm roll in (while Seamus kept sleeping in the stroller).
*Side note: I got to wear a running skirt for the first time (successfully anyway) today. Loved it. |
| I just brought the stroller inside and let the little man keep on sleepin'. |
| Just as we rolled in the front door, the skies finally opened up. Talk about perfect timing. The universe was smiling on me this morning. :) |
| Don't think I can have much confidence in weather.com's hourly forecast anymore. This was the hourly "chance of precip", at 10:05 am, AS it was pouring down rain.. 50% lol |
McKenna started at a new preschool a few weeks ago, and while the transition had been going well, she suddenly started telling me that she didn't like her new school/friends and didn't want to go to school. :-( I felt awful. While I still feel that this new school is a big improvement from her previous one, I had some guilt all along about taking her away from her little friends that she's seen 2/days a week, since she was 18 months old. However, her new school has been having all sorts of fun themes this week (again, perfect timing!) and it's been a huge help! She's been excited to go to school and has had a great time. She got to participate in "crazy hair day" and "pajama day", which have also included a bounce house and water play area (Tues), and face painting (Thursday). So fun.

| This morning, ready for pajama day! |
| Ponytail fauxhawk for crazy hair day. |
| Love that little face. |
With the weather heating up, we've been spending lots of time playing with/in water outside. Since I've yet to get the kids in swim lessons (on my must-do-very-soon list) I picked up a kiddie pool to use in the backyard. They love it.

| McKenna fixing Mommy's boo-boo toe. Future podiatrist? |
| All better Mommy! |
| Can we take a moment to talk about how freakin' adorable these two are in their little bathing suits?!! Cutest kids ever. |
| Beautiful day for a swim. |
| Hi!!!! |
| Grandma pointed out that they're starting to look more alike. I really hadn't noticed it, but looking at this pic... I do see it! Cuteness. |
My dinner date last night. She loves to "eat in the yellow chairs". I love her.
Oh, and don't worry, she's not drinking bubble solution. She just brought the empty bottle with her to the table after playing with it in the pool. ;) |
