Thrift Store Finds!

I had found this adorable little desk on Craig's List (for $35) that I wanted to get for McKenna's room.  I had plans to paint it some fun color, switch out the hardware, etc.  Unfortunately the guy hiked his price at the last minute due to heavy interest!  Ummm, this is Craig's List, not eBay.  Anyway, I was on the hunt for something else and I think I did pretty well today!

I found this chair first and just loved it.  I plan to change the fabric (and maybe even paint the chair some fun color) someday, but for now it's cute just like this.



Then I found this little beauty!!  The right side compartment has hinges and looks like the top piece should open as well (the left side lifts up and has a little storage compartment in there... McKenna loved that!), but it seems to be either stuck or glued shut.  I'm not sure. There are hinges and a latch, but I can't seem to figure it out.  I'll keep working on it. :)



Here she is testing out her new desk & chair!  She's still got some growing to do before she really "fits" them, but she was still excited.  I am too.  I also think they'll both make for great projects later on, but are super cute as they are now.  Once we get settled in our new place, I'll have a better idea of what I might like to do.


I have better photos of the desk/chair in place in her room, but my camera seems to have mysteriously disappeared since this afternoon.  :-/
