Kitchen Progress

While we were in Vegas the past few days, we had our kitchen cabinets painted white. Next up will be the countertop. We've decided on butcher block and I can't wait to get it installed!! Hubs & I are going to do it ourselves (cutting, treating the wood, installation, etc), so it should be quite the adventure. lol

Here is the progress so far... as you can see we are in the process of loading everything back into the kitchen. It's amazing how much stuff a kitchen holds. Ugh, this is going to take a few days (aka naps, and post-bedtime) to complete.

The paint didn't turn out quite as smooth as I thought it would. You can still see a lot of the wood grain in certain places, but overall I'm happy with it. It's certainly an improvement.

See how the wood grain shows through?

Obviously from afar you can't tell. I love how the hardware looks completely different. I decided at the last minute not to change it out. It would have require changing out all the hinges and was going to be too much $ and too much work.

Working on getting everything loaded back in... still LOTS more to complete.

I still plan to put mirror along the back wall of the open shelves. Good thing, because I'm least happy with how those turned out, in terms of the wood grain showing through.

All waiting to be brought back into the kitchen!
