Getting There... One Small Project At A Time.

I don't think I ever posted a pic of the mirror (that used to be silver) back up on the wall. So, here it is. Not too dramatic. lol But I like it so much better than the silver.

I'd like to put this piece of furniture under the mirror, but I worry about it making the space a bit too tight. I may just bring it home and see how it goes. I wonder if IKEA lets you return something previously assembled?! It's only 8 5/8" deep, love that.

So, it's official. We're going to go with butcher block countertops. When I asked Craig what he thought, since I know he's not a big fan of butcher block, his response was "I'm a big fan of $500 vs. $4,000!" lol Yay! I know there is additional maintenance involved (applying oil every 4 - 6 weeks), but I don't mind. I'm really excited.

So, white cabinets & butcher block cabinets. Undecided on the backsplash at this point (I do like the subway tile shown below), as well as paint color. I'm going to just leave the grey that we currently have (need to allow the cabinet paint to completely dry before I want to tape off on them anyway) and see how I like it. Chances are I'll paint the kitchen a tan/beige or very pale grey.

Pretty look, huh?

I'm hoping we can get something close to this color. It's so pretty. Love, love, love.

Just for reference.... this is the kitchen now.

I'm thinking I'd like to remove that wine rack and mount a microwave under there so we can free up some counter space. Oh, and I plan to put mirror along the back wall of those open shelves.

We FINALLY painted the master bathroom today! :) The paint has been sitting outside for about a month now. lol

After a first coat. The color is a really pale blue. Actually Dunn Edwards classifies it as one of their whites.

And now... it's hard to capture the actual color in pictures. The first on looks washed out and this one looks more blue than it does in person.

This is probably the closest representation of the color so far. One more coat to go. I can't wait for it to be all painted/dry so I can start loading everything (and all the new stuff) back in and complete the mini makeover.
