Yay for sleep!!

Ever since McKenna's 4 month appointment, which included her vaccinations, her sleep schedule has been a complete mess. Little by little, we've managed to get back on course. First to return was her morning nap, which is when I workout, do the dishes, eat breakfast... or nap myself. Then the afternoon nap returned, although the time at which it takes place and for how long is still sporadic. Don't care. Any nap is better than no nap.

The overnights were the last to fall back into place. She had reverted back to waking up every 3 +/- hours to feed. Ugh! Then she also decided that she wanted to stay up and party after her 3:00/4:00am feeding. That did not make Mommy happy. Some mornings I woke up and just wanted to cry, I was so tired. But last night she slept for 7 and 1/2 hours straight!! She went down at 6:30pm and may have made it for an even longer stretch, but she woke herself up at 9:30pm because she had rolled onto her tummy (she's now rolling back-to-tummy) and was crying. She seems to suddenly to have forgotten how to roll tummy-to-back. Maybe it's just when she's sleepy/tired, because she still manages just fine during tummy time. I'm sure she'll get the hang of it sooner or later. So.... it's now 6:36pm and our little peanut is sound asleep in her crib. I'm eager to see how she does tonight. We also moved her up to size 3 diapers, so hopefully we won't have any more leaks and may hold a bit more in the overnight.

As if on cue, McKenna started crying just as I finished the above paragraph. It's now 7:15pm, she's had 3 more oz, a fresh diaper and has repeatedly fallen asleep in my arms, but as soon as I put her in her crib she cries. She's in there crying right now. :( I hate to do it, but occasionally she gets to the point where if I stay in there next to her crib she will fight going to sleep and just cry until I pick her up. Ok, so I only lasted about 3 minutes before I went back in. It's 7:30 and she's asleep... hopefully for good.

Mommy & McKenna hanging out before bedtime. Don't look too closely, Mommy isn't wearing any makeup! ;-)

Sacked out in her crib. I love that she always puts her hands behind her head when she falls asleep for the night.

As I think I've mentioned on here, I've been doing the Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred workouts. I had also purchased "Active" for the Wii, but had yet to try it out. So yesterday, after my JM workout, I broke out Active. It was great! My buns are killing me today. lol I'm doing the 30 Day Challenge which consists of different exercise each day to work various muslce groups. It's lots of fun and a really good workout. I always do my workouts during McKenna's morning nap, which is usually 2 to 2.5 hours. Well today she woke up after only about 20 min, so I brought her back into the office (where I workout on the Wii) and put her on her playgym while I finished my workout.

Watching Mommy workout.

Later in the day, I put her in her swing and gave her "Duckie" to play with. Well, I turned around and she had somehow managed to launch Duckie up by her head and he was stuck up there, just hangin' out. LOL I had to snap a pic.

Recently I've been buying fruit and making my own fresh fruit salads vs. buying the pre-cut ones since they're so expensive. It's actually really fun and yummy. So today I was cutting up all the fruit for another salad and unfortunately McKenna's attention span for her various toys was about 5 minutes, which was making it quite difficult for me to get all the fruit cut up and put in the fridge. Eventually I just took the toy bar off her bouncy and just had her sit in the kitchen with me. I think she gets ticked off because the toys are attached to the bar and she's not able to stick them in her mouth. lol I turned about at one point and Koal had come in and decided to lie down and keep her company. He's such a gentle soul.

Best buds.
