We've officiall started cereal!

All is well here. McKenna has slept through the night (6/7pm till 5:30/6:00am) twice this past week. Last night she was up twice and Craig wound up going and sleeping with her in the recliner at 4:00 this morning. Overall she's doing great. We've started on cereal this week. We actually tried several times over the last month, but she's actually eating it now. I thickened it up a bit and that seemed to make the difference. She gobbles that stuff right up! I can barely get it on the spoon fast enough. lol She's leaning toward me with her mouth wide open. So cute. Here's a video from yesterday, our first successful cereal attempt. You don't have to watch the whole thing (boring), but you can see enough just in the first 40 seconds or so.

We're planning our first family vacation, which will also fall on Craig's 40th birthday. I hope we can make it a special birthday for him. We're going to go to San Diego (Cardiff by the Sea) for a week and then I'm going to stay there for another week and my Mom & Greg are going to come stay with me & McKenna. I hope the house turns out to be nice and as "walkable" as the lady is leading me to believe! I want to be able to easily walk to the beach and walk to coffee shops, restaurants, etc. I'm really excited to show McKenna the beach for the first time, to spend some quality time with my hubby & daughter, and to spend some quality time with MY Mom. :)

Some recent pics....

Finally... success with cereal!

Afterward, our first trip to a restaurant with McKenna. Strangely, when we sat down, I was holding McKenna and she kept looking at Craig and if he moved toward her or I moved her toward him she would start to cry. We thought maybe it was the way the overhead lighting was hitting his face. So he stopped looking at her, but she kept staring at him and making that face like she was going to cry any minute. Shortly after that I mentioned that this was our first time taking McKenna to a restaurant and asked Dottie to take a pic. She took the pic and then immediately, upon looking at the picture, said "OMG Craig, look at your face!" This is how the pic turned out. A little later I went and say in Dottie's seat and took a pic from the same spot... that's the 2nd one.
Too bad, it would have been a cute photo.

Don't mind Craig making his stupid face. He's such a brat sometimes.

Strange, huh?
