The daily challenge lately is to get McKenna to nap during the day. She just LOVES to stay awake, even though she's terribly tired. Part of the problem is that we've been trying to get her to soothe herself to sleep (be able to put her down while she's still awake & tired and have her fall asleep vs. waiting until she's asleep to put her down) and to do it in a stationary location... in other words not in her swing, bouncy, bassinet with the vibrating mechanism on, in Mommy's arms, etc. Well, she's not been a big fan of that plan. I'm pretty much at the end of my rope and ready to just let her sleep where ever she will sleep!
So, this afternoon Craig watched McKenna while I ran to Target and then a bit later while I worked out (at home). Well, almost 20 min into my workout I start to hear -over the music playing in my headphones- McKenna just WAILING!!! I turn my head and there is Craig, carrying McKenna who is screaming her head off. Koal is following close behind Craig. Evidently she's been screaming the whole time I've been on the treadmill and she got so loud that Koal started to howl with her! I have never heard him howl... ever. Poor girl is so tired she is out of her little baby mind, and Koal is in a doggy-panic over her crying so much. (He's such a love) I only wish Craig had caught it on video.
Before she had her major meltdown, she and Daddy were "talking" in the family room. It was so cute that I had to run and grab my video camera. I only caught her doing it once more, but you get the idea. She was talking up a storm!
