We're making progress... slowly

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Here we are enjoying our sparkling grape juice....

I had my 36 week appointment this past Tuesday and my first “check” (if you know what I mean…and if you don’t, you probably don’t want to know). ;) It looks like I'm progressing just as I should be for this point in my pregnancy.

I was pleased to find out that over the past 2 weeks, I have only gained 1 lb. Shocking, considering all the crap I ate over the holiday! I was expecting to have a better idea of the baby’s size, but I don’t really know any more than I did last time. I’m still measuring big and my Dr is still saying that he doubts he’ll want to let me go past Jan 20th, if I haven’t gone into labor on my own by then. There is some progress though… I’m just barely starting to dilate (less than 1 cm) and 60% effaced. All good. My blood pressure was evidently a bit high (well, it was back where it was when I started), but that is normal for the third trimester. It wasn't at a point where it was of concern, but I'm sure he'll be keeping an eye one it. I start my weekly appointments now, so I’ll have another update this coming Thursday.

Here are some belly pics from this week... try not to be distracted that radiant pregnant glow I've got goin' on! (Hah! I look a bit like death warmed over)

Wow! That front view is a nice dose of reality... I'm as big as I feel. How about that.

I am unbelievably tired and quite uncomfortable at this point. To be expected, but I must admit that hearing about the “misery months” and experiencing them are two very different things. It has been great having these past two week off of work, but it was a rude awakening today going back to work. I was terribly uncomfortable sitting at my desk all day, had to fight falling asleep at my desk most of the day, and the bathroom is way too far away when you’re going every 20 min... approximately 136 steps each way. Yup, I counted. lol I only seem to be comfy in my sweats these days. I would never have considered going to work in sweats in the past, but now… it’s looking mighty attractive. I suspect it’s either that or I will be requesting to work from home for these last couple weeks.

Well now that the world’s tiniest violin has finished playing it’s saddest song, just for me, I think I’m off to bed. Boy, I’m just a ray of freakin’ sunshine, huh?
