Well, I'm just back from my Dr's appt. No real progress from last week. He was able to "push through my cervix" (yea, that was not fun) so I'm now 1 cm dilated and still 60% effaced. So I am definitely being induced, but he pushed it up to Sunday! I know it's not that much sooner than Tuesday, but still it was news I was not expecting.
During my appt I asked him (since he's never given me a guesstimate on her weight) "so when you say 'big baby', are we talking like an 8 or 9 lb baby?" to which he said "yeah, we're talking an 8 or 9 lb baby!" lol He added that they (OBs) are notoriously bad at judging weight, but u/s is no more accurate at this stage and he just really thinks that, from everything he's feeling/measuring, that she is a big baby.
We're supposed to be at the hospital by 7am on Sunday. Mom has changed her flight (originally scheduled to land at 8pm on Sunday) and will not arrive just after 10am on Sunday, which is great... she should arrive in plenty of time to be there for the birth. So... looks like I may get my little Capricorn after all. Wow, I just can't believe she's almost here.
We are pretty much ready to go... bags are packed, cord blood kit ready to go, pre-registered at the hospital, etc. I just need to do some laundry, get the guest house prepped for Mom and clean up around the house. A friend of mine from home is in town for business and she & I have plans to have lunch on Saturday. I'm sure it will be a much needed mental diversion... and as another (recent Mommy) friend pointed out my "last hassle free meal".
